Sharing a key with additional guests through OpenKey

Can a guest share their mobile key with additional guests?


Yes! Once the main guest has downloaded their mobile key, they will have the ability to share their key with other members of their party. 

If you don't already have the app downloaded, use the link in the Welcome text message you received when you checked into the hotel.  NOTE: If you did not receive a text, please check with the Front Desk to ensure you've been issued a mobile key. 

If this is your first time using OpenKey, you will need to verify your phone number.  If you've used the app previously and did not delete it from your device/change devices, you have already verified your number and won't have to repeat the process. 

The key will automatically start downloading, and land on the Active Key Screen once complete. 

From the Active Key Screen, click on SHARE KEY in the bottom, left corner.

Enter the NAME and PHONE NUMBER of the first person with whom you wish to share a key.


You will get a confirmation screen once the key has been shared, and the person added will receive a text message containing the link to download the OpenKey app. 

Repeat this process for up to four (4) additional guests.  NOTE: The hotel can limit the number of guests that can be granted a key.  To learn more about how to limit the number of shared keys, click the button below. 

**NOTE: If more than 5 guests need access to a single room, RFID plastic keys can be made for the remaining.
